The Charleston, South Carolina area is a great place to live or have a vacation home. The weather is great, the beaches are fantastic, golf courses are abundant, there are many historical sites, the architecture is unbelievable, the dining is unbeatable, and the people are the friendliest in the country. It is because of these reasons that I believe Charleston SC Real Estate is truly unique. I look forward to helping you with any of your real estate needs in Charleston, Berkeley, or Dorchester counties. Today’s article is titled:

The Audubon Center at Francis Beidler Forest

Savor the Lowcountry’s authentic swamp experience with a visit to the Francis Beidler Forest. Located in Four Holes Swamp and off the beaten path, this unique sanctuary allows visitors to see one of South Carolina’s premier natural sites.

The 1.75 mile boardwalk winds among ancient Bald Cypress trees, deep into the heart of the forest. Come experience the melodies of colorful songbirds and the timelessness of the world’s largest remaining stand of virgin Bald Cypress – Tupelo Gum swamp.

The Audubon Center at Francis Beidler Forest is home to an array of unique animals and plants. Over three hundred species of mammals, birds, reptiles, and fish call this sanctuary home.
Within the Francis Beidler Forest lie 1,800 acres of old growth Bald Cypress – Tupelo Gum swamp forest. Once common throughout the Lowcountry, the meandering blackwater streams and towering thousand year old Bald Cypress trees provide visitors a glimpse of South Carolina long past.
